How has the Advanced Monthly Method worked lately?
Someone emailed this question yesterday and I thought, a picture (in this case Chart) is worth a thousand words.
 
The chart below represents our phantom trades with the QQQ over the past 16 1/2 months. The Phase Q execution points are the different dates to cover/buy and sell/cover, basically Phase Q represents the forecasted peak of the upward movement or forecasted valley of the downward movement of the markets. In this case we have 118 points which represent 256 trades. We have not factored commissions which vary with volume traded and we have not factored in short selling rules. (The QQQ is the NASDAQ 100 index stock)
 
Phase Q #87 represented the first surprise interest rate announcement by the Fed at the start of this year which resulted in a loss of about 40% using our method. The method recovered from that and then ran into another surprise interest rate announcement by the Fed at phase Q #112 which resulted in a 22% loss which the method quickly recovered from and is now up 9.04% for 2001 alone and 173.54% for the past 16 1/2 months non-compounded.
 
Without the surprise announcements while we were shorting in both cases, I expect the QQQ would be up 60+% for this year alone, however, this is just speculation and the chart above shows what trading like a robot would accomplish regardless of solar storms, Fed announcements, presidential election uncertainty, news stories and threats of War that will all have some effect on overriding the method.
 
The chart below shows the adjusted share price (stock splitting has been factored in) for the QQQ for the same 118 phase Q points.
 
 
By combining the percentage gains using Phase Q vs. the percentage loss had you bought the QQQ Jan 5th 2000 and held it all this time, which is what many long term investors experienced last year. The difference between the two as of May 11, 2001 is 220.57% (see chart below)

In other words phantom trading with the advanced monthly method has shown consistent longer term gains regardless of a bear/bull/or sideways market.
