If the forecast is wrong there usually is a reason behind it: In
the past few weeks the solar activity has been quite high. This has caused
massive changes in the speed of the solar wind which changes the ion ratio. Below we plotted the solar wind speed
versus the Nasdaq market for the past week (all the markets had similar
movements). As you can see the association is quite apparent. It's to bad the
solar wind speed fluctuations weren't the only thing affecting the markets
because it would make my job that much easier. A strong decrease in the
solar wind speed coincides with dropping markets while a strong increase
coincides with growth in the markets.
